Born: 31 July 1891
Samuel Waterhouse Padman and Annie Elizabeth Jane Padman (nee Ragless) migrated to Middleton in 1889 and soon after Samuel became the storekeeper at the local General Store. Samuel was also the local preacher and Sunday school superintendant.
Vernon published 'Reminiscences and History of Port Elliott and Middleton' in 1974. His collection in the South Australian Museum Archives comprises photographs which were donated by Harold L Sheard (see AA 290) in May 1955.
