Thomas Worsnop migrated to Australia in 1852 with his wife Mary Ann (nee Kenyon) and their three children. After a varied carrer in Adelaide and the regions, Worsnop worked as a teamster during 1865-1866. In 1868, Worsnop was appointed Clerk in the Adelaide City Council and was promoted to Town Clerk in 1869.
The South Australian Museum contains the manuscript, proofs and correspondence relating to Worsnops The Prehistoric Arts, Manufacturers, Works, Weapons, Etc., of the Aborigines of Australia published in 1897. The collection also contains a photograph album, lose photographs and illustrations.
