For Teachers
What support can teachers get at the museum?
Education Managers provide professional development sessions for individual teachers or groups – Click here for details. Schools can also negotiate programs to suit their needs.
Negotiated Programs
Teachers can ring the Education Office, (preferably after 3pm) to discuss customised programs for classes. If you have an idea to use the museum in a novel way we may be able to negotiate a special program to meet your needs.
Self-Guided Visits
Many worksheets are available as teacher resources on this website. See In the Museum
There are many other ways to work with students in the galleries. Download some of our teaching ideas in Working with Students in a Gallery. Teachers who would like to walk through a gallery with an Education Officer prior to their class' visit, and discuss teaching ideas with an Education Manager can contact the Education Office to arrange a time.

Other programs on offer – Adelaide Compass Campus Tour
If you are visiting the Museum why not make a day of it and visit The University of Adelaide too!
The University of Adelaide’s North Terrace campus is located directly next door and they are keen to welcome primary school aged visitors on campus. The Adelaide Compass team are involved in the delivery of a range of curriculum based activities for primary aged students and have designed an interactive tour to guide your students around the campus, collecting information along the way.
The tour will take up to an hour to complete and if you advise them in advance they may be able to arrange a compass volunteer guide to escort you on the tour.
If you are interested in taking your students on a ‘Compass on Campus ‘tour or would like further information please contact them via the information below:
