Built Tough: The Awesome Roman Empire

Get hands-on with working models of machines that changed history! This summer, step back in time and discover how Roman technology worked. Pull ropes, turn handles and make a Roman arch in this interactive exhibition that brings the ancient and lost technology of the Roman Empire to life! Opens 8 December. Adults $13, concession $10, children (5-16yo) $7, family (2+2) $30.

Spotlight Series: Roman Artefacts

The spotlight is shining on Roman artefacts from the South Australian Museum's collections. The sample of Roman items from the UK, Egypt, Gaul (France and the Rhineland) and Italy includes pieces from the Imperial Family and the Colosseum. Opens 7 December. Free. This Spotlight Series supports the summer exhibition, Built Tough. .

What's hot in January aside from the weather? Our School Holiday Program! Enjoy some fun in the sun as we bring you water activities, Roman games and trail maps through the Museum. 14-25 January. Free.
