Violet Mace was a potter who mostly practiced at Boswell, Tasmania.

She visited Hermannsburg in 1934, and had some contact with Rev. Friedrich Wilhelm Albrecht (AA 662), who provided (at her request) a sketch book of Albert Namatjira drawings and loose drawings by Australian Aboriginal people Ferdinand, Gordon, Emos, Marion, and Malarana all dated 1934. She also corresponded with the Museum in relation to objects of the Central Australian Aboriginal people in 1940.

This collection came to the South Australian Museum via Pastor Friedrich Wilhelm Albrecht, (1894-1984).
