Current research includes palaeoecological and systematic research on the Ediacara biota by Dr Jim Gehling (Research Scientist) and Richard Jenkins (Honorary), and palaeobiology of early Cambrian fossils by Jim Jago (Honorary) and John Paterson (PostDoc Fellow, Macquarie), Pierre Kruse (Honorary) with support from Mary-Anne Binnie (Assistant Collection Manager), Dennis Rice (Honorary Associate) and Jan Perry (Volunteer). Mike Lee (Prof. Fellow) is investigating the evolution of extinct and living reptiles. Neville Pledge (Honorary) describes Cainozoic marsupial and whale fossils from Australia. Rod Wells (Honorary) and Gavin Prideaux (Flinders University) research key Pleistocene vertebrate deposits of South Australia including the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves deposit.
