Since 1965 the Friends of the South Australian Museum Inc. (FOSAM) have been dedicated to fostering the interests of the museum.
They do this by financially supporting scientific research projects and publications, contributing funds towards exhibits and, occasionally, purchasing items of specialised equipment or specimens for the museum’s collections.

Functions
Throughout the year, FOSAM arranges a number of functions. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
Tours
Special group tours can be organised for community and social groups for a small fee. Please contact the Friends using the details on the right hand side of the page.
Fundraising
FOSAM membership subscriptions are designed to cover the running expenses of the Friends. Funds raised from functions and tours are used to support the museum.
FOSAM has funded the purchase of many valuable items for exhibition and museum collections. Donations to FOSAM’s Research Fund are tax deductible.
