The South Australian Museum Foundation

The role of management of the South Australian Museum is prescribed under the South Australian Museum Act, 1976-1985. The South Australian Museum is a Division of Arts South Australia.

The South Australian Museum is widely acknowledged as Australia’s premier and most visited natural history museum, with visitation levels in excess of 800,000 a year.

The museum enjoys an international reputation for its size and representation in its collections, as well as the breadth and quality of the scientific research conducted.

Our ability to further our work is limited only by the financial resources available to us.

The Board of the Foundation is committed to ensuring that 99% of all funds raised are dedicated to the museum’s future development plans.
