The obverse/reverse of the front cover hosts a printed notice to the effect that these prints and negatives were made by JF Gillen, and that the negatives were purchased by the SA Government in 1911.
The copy on the reverse also has an annotation: "Blue tick under a print indicates prints for which Professor Gregory of Yale University asks, April 1916." NB. No such ticks were noted during processing, but may be on one of the content lists.
