Not all the photographs in this series relate to the 'Engwara ceremony'. Some of the photographs were taken by Francis James Gillen (AA 108) and some have Lingwood Smith's initials engraved into the glass negative. Labels recorded on the glass negative envelopes have been cited in quotation marks. Where envelope labels are not extant, data has been recorded from the glass negative itself.
