Series comprises 31 diaries and manuscripts relating to birds, reptiles and expedition trips to Port Augusta (1912), Central Australia (1913), Musgrave and Everard Ranges (1914), Cooper Creek (1915) and Adelaide-Darwin (1922).

Four of the earlier diaries are from Captain White's father, Samuel White.

The Boer War diaires (7 in total) were transferred to the State Library of South Australia in December 2006.
