These prints depict various buildings and the surrounding area; as well as the inhabitants of the Mission. Everyday activities as well as posed shots of individuals and groups of people are included.

The prints are of varying size and format. Many have original annotations written on the reverse and some also have printers' instructions. Note that the constitution of the Aborigines' Friends' Association (AFA) is printed on the reverse of item AA 1/5/46. Later annotations identifying some individuals have been placed adjacent to the photograph they refer to. Note that some items show unidentified people and places. The prints are stored unmounted in two binders titled 'AA 1 Aborigines' Friends' Association (AFA) Photographic Prints, Album 1 of 4' and 'AA1 Aborigines' Friends' Association (AFA) Photographic Prints, Album 2 of 4'.

This series was arranged and described by South Australian Museum archivist Kay L Mead in 1980. In her listing she recorded captions for five photographs in this series from the publication Australian Aborigines. The edition of Australian Aborigines from which the captions were copied has not been located but the captions have been retained in the inventory for each photograph in the 'Details' field. All place names and proper names from the annotations and caption have been indexed. All of the annotations and ink stamps found on the prints have also been listed in the 'Details' field.

The series was part of Acc. No. 86.

This series contains references to South Australia.
