This series contains 3 letters that are handwritten in English and the remaing 8 in German at the request of Stirling. All 8 letters written in German have been translated into English.

The letters were originally stored in a brown manila envelope noted ' Reuther Correspondence to Dr Stirling'. The envelope was in a red folder found in a wooden cabinet in Norman Tindale's room, during 1976. The folder was labeled 'Papers relating to the Reuther Collection Purchased 1907'. Also noted in pencil was 'see card catalogue in Cabinet Zietz room'.

This series relates to GRG 19/11 in Series 6: Letters sent by the Museum Director to Reuther.
