This series includes research materials, notes, vocabulary lists, drafts, newspaper clippings and a copy of HM Cooper's Australian Aboriginal Words and their meanings. Australian Aboriginal Words and their meanings was first published in 1948. A second, revised and enlarged edition was publised in 1952, a third edition in 1957, and a fourth edition, revised and enlarged, in 1962.

This series also contains material generated in the 1980s relating to a proposed posthumous revised edition of the work, including correspondence and three boxes of index cards.
