This series contains photographs, traced outlines of hands and feet, and hair-growth data obtained whilst on Board for Anthropological Research (BAR, see AA 346) expeditions.

Fenner conducted physical anthropology research on three BAR expeditions; to the Diamantina region of north-east South Australia in August 1934, to Nepabunna in May and June of 1937, and to Ooldea in August 1939.
