Continuation from page 79 (AA122/3/1/74) of incident involving Constable Reid, ordered to bring unwell Australian Aboriginal people north for treatment. The incident, as related by the author, describes the escape attempt from a cell by an Australian Aboriginal man who once caught was found to have a knife tucked inside his shirt. The blade was made of iron and handle of native wax. While camped at Newcastle Waters became interested in the bore in the yard behind the house and monitored the barometer pressure for 24 hours noting the when the barometer rose above 29.20 inches the air flowed down.
