Volume 3

Continuation from page 199 (AA122/3/3/19) and the break-up of the cattle gang brought about by in-fighting, the fall in the price of cattle and the activities of the Vigilance Committee. At dusk Richie, Ron & Pauline Wyatt and the author went out to shoot wallabies. Author extracted a tooth-root from Wyatt who presented him with two stone spearheads and a pearl pendant given to Wyatt by Australian Aboriginal people from the area around Gordon Downs (WA). Recalls the Australian Aboriginal woman cook at the stock camp as very bright and quick at repartee. Her wit was well known.
