1. Photograph 34.3.37: 'On account of the flatness of the Nullarbor Plain there are no surface drainage systems - this function is served by holes or dongas in the limestone. The opening is usually narrower that [sic] the cavity. Some dongas are very large and lead to subterranean water systems.'
