1. Photograph 35.15.29: 'The larva of a giant lace wing popularly called an ant lion. It lives in sand and excavates a conical hole and awaits at the front for victim to walk in. The victim slides down the sides and is caught [drawing illustration]. Most of these caught are only about 1/4 inch. The natives call it mar-mu-ar chitzee or devil's child.'
