1. Photograph 35.22.23: 'Death and rejuvenation of a giant mallee - fire probably played a part. It is interesting to observe the affects of fire on the growth of spinifex. In a few years after the fire the spinifex did not re appear - but the ground was covered by flowering plants - which would be displaced from the edge of the burnt mass.'
