1. Photograph 35.23.9: 'Through spinifex with tall seed stalks one wheel track of road is seen through the grass. In some types of country, when the soil is moist and the going is heavy the actual wheel tracks are left as raised welts on the surface. In this the tracks are depressed and wind blown seeds may collect and grow in them, or rain may fall and wash out the track and later make quite deep gutters of them.'
