This series includes about 60 Nukunu words recorded at the Baroota Aboriginal Reserve, near Port Germein in South Australia, on 1 September 1936 by Gwenda McMurtrie, apparently one of Parkes' students. The vocabulary is titled 'The Nunkunu [sic] language'. Correspondence indicates that the vocabulary was collected mainly from Nukunu women, as the men were out shearing at the time.
The word-list includes general vocabulary items such as words for native fauna and parts of the human body, as well as some place-names, e.g. Mudlowie binda (Port Germein), Widalu (Black Hill) and Gooponga (Mt Mambray).
