"Casual Field Trips, Graeme Pretty, Dept. Anthropology, South Australian Museum".

The notebook details various field trips from February 1962 to December 1964.

1. Notebook pages 1 - 17. "To Wilpena Pound, February 10-11 1962". This trip was with Charles P Mountford.

2. Notebook pages 19 - 85. "Journal of the South Australian Museum and University of California investigation of sites on and around Lake Menindee, R. Darling, NSW. September 13-18 1962". This trip was with Richard H Tedford and Norman B Tindale.
As well as the hand-written notes, there are three newspaper clippings dated September 1962 and a copy of a typed letter to Richard May of Menindee.

3. Notebook pages 87 - 91. "Extract from a letter to L. Schulze, Warramboo, S. Aus.". The letter is dated 25/7/1962. The letter outlines instructions on how to effectively record discoveries of aboriginal campsites.

4. Notebook page 92. "Trip to Murray River sites during visit of J. Golson to Adelaide". 6/11/1962.
This one day excursion was with Jack Colson, Professor Lawton, Dr Charles R Twidale and Charles P Mountford.

5. Notebook pages 94 - 98. "Field trip to Narrung (Lake Albert, Murray R.) South Australia to investigate Reports of Native Burial Ground". 19 - 20 November 1962.
Reports had been received of several skeletons unearthed during excavation work to build a new ferry and approaches at Narrung. The brief report gives details of observations and two sketches of the excavations.

6. Notebook pages 100 - 102. "Removal of Aboriginal skeletons from Kingston Park, caravan area, Hundred of Noarlunga". 5/12/1962.
Part of a skull and some quartz stone flakes were retrieved.

7. Notebook pages 104 - 114. "Removal of an Aboriginal skeleton from the old Morphett property "Cummins", Adelaide, Sect 72 H of Adelaide". 5/12/1962.
Accompanied by PF Aitken.
Pages 104 - 110 give a detailed description and location of the burial site.

8. Pages 112 - 114. Re-visit to the old Morphett property by Graeme Pretty, MJ Tyler and David Thomas (both from Pharmacology, University of Adelaide). 16 - 17/12/1962.
This visit was to search for more remains.

9. Notebook pages 116 - 131. "Excavation of aboriginal burials south of Hackham, Hd of Noarlunga, SA". 22/6/1964.
Pages 116 - 117 and 123 is a record of how the site was found, what was found and the location. This was written after completion of the field work, which was undertaken in November 1963 and January 1964.
Pages 118 - 120 are field notes with photographs.

10. Pages 121 - 122 is a summary of aboriginal occupation of this area from a phone conversation with Percy Sparrow of Hackham.

11. Pages 124 - 131 covers details of a second visit to the area south of Hackham on 16/1/1964. There is also an envelope of photos taken 5/11/1963.
There is a list of all the photographs taken on page 131.

12. Notebook pages 132 - 161.
"Removal of Aboriginal burials at Gidgealpa, South Australia". 19/5/1964 - 21/5/1964.
