The CAAB Melanesia expedition took place from 22 July 1972 to 11 October 1972.
The expedition covered villages in the Fly River delta, Sepik River, north coast of Papua New Guinea, highlands villages near Goroka, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

There are three notebooks titled "Melanesia 1972 1", "Melanesia 1972 2" and "Melanesia 1972 3".
These notebooks record the day-to-day activities, people met etc.
