These images are a collection of 35mm colour slides, black-and-white photographs, 35mm black-and-white negatives and black-and-white contact prints from the expedition to the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea in 1968/69. The photographers were Graeme Pretty and Anthony Crawford.

Most of the colour slides have been scanned and are located at R:\Archives\AA 255 PRETTY, GL\Melanesian slides JEN\JPGs\AA255-1. The film rolls are numbered 1-4, 6, 8-10, 13, 15-16, 18-20, 22-24, 26 and 29.
These slides are stored in two folders named "Pretty & Crawford 1968-69 Southern Highlands PNG Colour Slides", numbered Ⅰ and Ⅱ.

Colour slides from film rolls 31 - 36, plus some copies of images from another source (PA Crowe) are stored in a folder named "Pretty & Crawford Southern Highlands PNG Colour Slides Ⅲ". These have not been scanned.

The monochrome negatives and contact prints are stored in a folder named "Pretty & Crawford 1968-69 Southern Highlands PNG Mono Negatives & Contact Prints", numbered Ⅳ.

The monochrome images taken by Graeme Pretty have been scanned and are located at R:\Archives\AA 255 PRETTY, GL\Melanesian slides JEN\JPGs\AA255-2. These are film rolls 5, 12, 17, 21, 27, 28 and 30.

The monochrome images taken by Anthony Crawford have not been scanned. These are film rolls 7, 11, 14, 25 and 25A.
Prints of these monochrome images are mounted in three albums named "Album of Photographs
South Australian Papua/New Guinea Museum Expedition
Southern Highlands District Papua
1968/69". The albums are numbered Ⅰ, Ⅱ and Ⅲ.

The box housing Albums Ⅰ and Ⅱ also has four envelopes of loose monochrome prints from various film rolls, both colour and monochrome and several other loose prints not in envelopes.
There is also a folder with typed descriptions of various photographs on loose-leaf foolscap sheets as well as a hand-written list of photographs titled "Salvage Ethnography in S.H.D., Papua. Transparencies to accompany lecture." (12 pages stapled together).

Also interspersed throughout these albums are monochrome copies of some of the colour slides.
