- Fifty-eight black and white (b/w) prints (11x8 cm) and 17 negs (11x8 cm) taken by Black in France and on the Western Front during 1914-15, including his work in field hospitals and with Gurkha stretcher-bearer units.
- Ten b/w prints (7x5 cm) including one duplicate and eleven negs taken by Black in Freetown, Sierra Leone, in 1917.
- Forty-four b/w prints (10x8 cm, including three duplicates) and one b/w print (6x6 cm) plus 7 negs taken during service with the British Army in Sierra Leone and German East Africa (1917), Dar Es Salaam (1917-8) and Portuguese East Africa (1918).
- Eight b/w prints (11x8 cm) and nine b/w prints (6x4 cm) taken at Naples, Port Said, Colombo and other locations during Black's return trip by ship to Australia, 1919-20.
