This item consists of 2 magnetic tapes recorded by Norman B Tindale at Yalata (SA) in 1965. Tindale travelled to Yalata with John Greenway, an American anthropologist, who apparently also made audio recordings (not held by the South Australian Museum). Details of the Yalata recordings are found in Tindale's journal: 'Entomology and General Field Trips by Norman B Tindale. 1964-1965. Adelaide, S. Australia', AA 338/1/43/3, pp. 499-669. Four additional magnetic tapes relating to this item are located at AA 338/11/33. The latter tapes form part of Tindale's 'personal and study series' of tapes that arrived at the South Australian Museum after Tindale's death in 1993.
