A published map catalogue compiled in 1955 by the Commonwealth of Australia's National Mapping Office (Department of the Interior, Canberra, Australian Commonwealth Territory, first edition). Lists title, scale and price of maps available for purchase from National Mapping Office. Includes geographical, aeronautical and 'photomap' series of Australia and Papua New Guinea (see also items 338/18/1-2). A diagram on page 14, 'Australian Aeronautical Map 1:1,000,000', serves as a location key to a number of maps (in series 338/15) from which Tindale transcribed expedition data to maps in series 338/18.
