This shoebox contains two sections of cards. The first section (8 cm) consists chiefly of place names relating to Tindale's South East of South Australia place names project. The data is drawn from literature sources and Tindale's manuscript materials. Cards often contain an English gloss, an etymology, associated mythological or tribal distribution data, a Hundred location, or the place name may remain unlocated. The second section (8 cm) is a general vocabulary drawn from a range of literature sources and Tindale's own manuscript materials. A header card reads: 'Kaurna Tr. At present am gathering only words additional to T. & S. [Teichelmann & Schurmann]'. This section also contains notes on bibliographic sources, and the odd card from neighbouring languages, such as Narangga or Ramindjeri, occassionally appears.
Tindale Tribes: Kaurna; Narangga; Ramindjeri.
