The cards in this shoebox relate to Tindale's South East of South Australia place names project. There is one header card: 'Tanganekald'. A card may include the following types of information: a gloss, an etymology, ethnographic details (e.g., mythological), location (e.g., distance from a landmark or reference to a Hundred), or observation re tribal/clan boundaries and limits. Most of the cards are drawn from Tindale's manuscript materials. Note that the last few cards relate to the names of clans rather than to place names per se. Tindale's main informant is Milerum (Clarence Long), but Albert Karlowan and Alf Watson are occasionally named. See maps AA338/24/112-113, County Cardwell.
