This is the first of two final film productions documenting the Board for Anthropological Research (BAR) expedition to Maningrida, Northern Territory, during 8-30 August 1959.
The party visited localities in the Northern Territory including: Darwin, Maningrida, Yirrkala, Adelaide River, Alligator River, Liverpool River, Blyth River, Milingimbi, Elcho Island, Oenpelli and Arnhem Land.
The cinematographer was AA Abbie (AA 688).
