The nine expedition camels crossing the dry lakebed of Lake Marrakoonamooka. James Atkins (cook and assistant) and Otto Rau (taxidermist, S. A. Museum) ride the two camels at the rear, Mahomet Salaam (Camel Driver) rides the lead camel, while Captain White walks by a camel near the centre of the train.
