Notes: Te Taepa is seated in a whare (house), smoking a pipe. He is wrapped in a European blanket that has been fastened at his left shoulder with a cloak pin and red wool. He has a moko (traditional Maori facial tattoo) and a greenstone (nephrite jade) ear pendant.
