Notes: Te Paki is seated and has a kauwae (traditional Maori woman's chin tattoo). She wears a greenstone (nephrite jade) hei-tiki pendant around her neck and a shark tooth pendant in her right ear. She wears a hieke-pokinkini (cloak) that features thrumbs that have been scraped and dyed at intervals, with black twisted thrumbs and red woollen pompoms. Her husband Te Kahurimu (Kauremo) is wearing an identical cloak underneath a tan coloured kahu kuri (dog skin cloak) he holds a large hoe (paddle) and has a moko (traditional Maori facial tattoo).
