Original Watercolour
There is one original watercolour within this frame.

Notes: Wahi tapu (sacred burial site) is restricted. This site was the resting place of the chief known as Te Pehi. The belongings of the deceased chief were kept in the central staked structure of this double fenced area painted with kokowai (red ochre). White feathers were attached to the top horizontal beam of this structure and in the front of the first fence Angas observed a small waka (canoe) and paddle. Hung from a tall upright stake is a vessel for the placement of food and a gourd that stores water.
