Notes: The Rangatira (chief) Rangituatea is seated smoking a pipe. He wears a European blanket over a korowai-ngore (cloak). His adornment includes two boar tusks, a greenstone (nephrite jade) hei-tiki pendant around his neck, a greenstone (nephrite jade) pendant in his left ear, and a shark's tooth in his right. A mere pounamu (greenstone hand club) with a flax wrist chord rests in front of him. He has a full moko (traditional Maori facial tattoo).
