Original Watercolour
There is one original watercolour within this frame.
Notes: Hurihanga is seated wearing a kahu toi (cape) created using prepared leaves. Hurihanga has a moko (traditional Maori facial tattoo). To his left is a gourd used for carrying and storing water. Behind him a small thatched fence and beyond this a pataka (enclosed and elevated store house) and the tops of palisade posts can be seen. Endorsed with Hurihanga's signature.
