'Abraham Taupo. Nga Ti Awa.'

Original Watercolour
There is one original watercolour within this frame.

Notes: Abraham Taupo was a rangatira (chief) of Ngati Awa tribe of Port Nicholson now known as Wellington and the Manawatu coast. His moko (traditional Maori facial tattoo) would indicate that he was a man of rank. Abraham is likely to be a baptismal name. He wears a European unifom. Endorsed with Taupo's signature.
