This item consists of six acetate negatives depicting the injured feet of an Australian Aboriginal man, taken from various angles with the feet in various positions. Annotations indicate the subject is 'Billy Joe' of Wyndham, northern Western Australia, estimated to be 20 years of age. Annotations on the negatives further indicate the injuries were thought to have been sustained during enforced travel while under arrest for cattle-spearing. The negatives are dated 15 May 1935 but it is unclear who the photographer was. There are also photographic prints (AA 91/1/18) and nitrate negatives (AA 91/1/21) of these images in this collection.
