Location: From Durrie north to Glengyle; east to near Monkira; about Lake Machattie, west to Kalidawarry. They practiced both circumcision and subincision as initiatory rites for men. O'Grady et al. (1966) mistakenly identified these people with the Maithakari (Mitakudi) who live north of Cloncurry, 350 miles (550 km.) away. The equation with the last-named term is illusory since its first i should be read as the diphthong ai (see note in text).
