This series comprises two black and white (b/w) photographs that depicts unidentified Australian Aboriginal people in the Dashwood District, Northern Territory. The prints are stored unmounted in a binder titled 'AA 1 Aborigines' Friends' Association (AFA) Photographic Prints, Album 2 of 4'.
South Australian Museum archivist Kay L Mead described this series in 1980. This series was previously titled 'Photographs captioned Darkwood'. The exact source of the caption is not known and the since the spelling has been corrected the current series title now reflects this change. The location referred to in the caption is probably the area of the Dashwood Creek, near Glen Helen Station, Northern Territory.
Annotations found on the prints have been listed in the 'Details' field of the inventory. A later annotation identifying a hand writing sample has been placed adjacent to the photograph it refers to. All place names and proper names from the annotations and caption have been indexed.
The series was part of Acc. No. 86
