This series comprises two black and white (b/w) photographs depicting Australian Aboriginal women at Oodnadatta, South Australia. Note that AA 1/45/2 identifies 'Rosie the goat sheppard' and 'Mrs W.' but these photographs also show unidentified people. The prints are stored unmounted in a binder titled 'AA 1 Aborigines' Friends' Association (AFA) Photographic Prints, Album 3 of 4'.
South Australian Museum archivist Kay L Mead described this series in 1980. In her listing she recorded a caption for this series but the exact source of the caption is not known. The caption has been retained as the 'Series Title'. A later annotation has been placed adjacent to AA 1/45/2 with direction to 'see Sister Wiley's collection'. The reference to 'Sister Wiley's Collection' is unconfirmed, however Sister Hyde (see AA 148) was known to have been at Oodnadatta. All place names and proper names from the annotations and caption have been indexed. All of the annotations found on the prints have been listed in the 'Details' field of the inventory.
The series was part of Acc. No. 86.
This series contains references to South Australia.
