Handwritten names and boundary lines show 'tribal' distribution in north central area of Western Australia including Great Sandy Desert and Lake Disappointment. Extensive annotation of Aboriginal place names in black pen over pencil. Margin notes in pencil include: 'N B Tindale personal researches' and 'from original sources'. Also noted are four Western Australia map titles: 'F4 Pt Hedland', 'F5 Oakover R[iver]', 'XV/800', 'Sheet 14 De Grey' (see series 338/15).

The map was found in a folder labelled by Tindale 'UCLA-UA Anthrop. Exp. PARALJI hegira N.W.A. [North West Australia] data for 1976 - Nangatara in NWA.' A photocopy of the label accompanies map.
