One bound volume of typescript supported by black and white photographs on most pages. Total of 70 pages plus one map.

A journal presented as a personal letter addressed to 'My Dear Friends' of a trip conducted under the auspices of the Board for Anthropological Research (AA346) in 1933 (Expedition I to Mann Ranges, CA 25 May - 6 August 1933 and Ernabella 7 - 24 August 1933). The introductory page styled letter dated February 1934. Valediction 'TJ Amu' '(Sgd) Cecil J Hackett'. The author states this letter is not for publication.

While the photographs are not formally numbered some have been annotated in pencil with an identification number (eg JA33:178 - See AA 122/8 Negative Albums 4 and 5). The photographs in the journal have been scanned and are located in separate drive Digital Assets AA122/1/1 photos.

The journal photographs and stand alone photographs taken on this expedition together with corresponding negatives see AA122/1/2.

For the purpose of digitisation the inventory is arranged by page number and the number of photographs per page.
