Drawer 2 of 3. The cards in this drawer contain the second section (L-S) of Tindale's major collection of parallel vocabularies. Begun during the Harvard and Adelaide (H-A) Universities Anthropological Expedition of 1938-9, they were added to over subsequent years. Tindale gathered numbers 1-110 of his Australian Vocabularies during the H-A expedition. Numbers 112-142 were gathered during the University of California at Los Angeles and University of Adelaide (UCLA-UA) Anthropological Expedition to North Western Australia in 1952-4 (see Tindale's 'Australian Vocabularies', 1938-63, AA 338/8/5, and journals AA 338/1/15/1-2, AA 338/1/19/1-4 for further details). Note that the cards in this section are larger than Tindale's usual cards (20.3x12.7 cm).
